Immediately The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing support to assigned offices for a wide variety of human resources activities, including recruitment and hiring, coordinating the onboarding and offboarding process, and maintaining all appropriate HR systems, technologies, and files.
The HR generalist serves as the first point of contact for employees within assigned office and provides information to employees about contract or group agreement language, policies and procedures, and other employment-related questions.
Qualifications:
Minimum of BS Degree in appropriate field (BS degree requirement may be waived with significant experience in specialized area of position) Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in appropriate field, leadership experience strongly preferred Expertise (includes one or more of the following):
Responsibility for budget of programs or initiatives Interfaces frequently with Customers and Stakeholders Very Specialized skills in area of concentration proven by work experience, certificates, etc.
Autonomous nature of work performed Experience in school human resources and non-profit environment preferred.
Experience with recruitment and hiring.
Experience with technology, including extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
) and Google, HRIS systems, etc.
Proven positive experience in providing a high level of customer experience Ability to problem solve and use technology to work effectively Ability to operate office equipment and use computer technology efficiently Ability to work independently and make work-related decisions and exercise good judgement in prioritizing tasks Valid Pennsylvania driver's license Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the recruitment and hiring effort for all MCIU positions, including administrative, support, confidential, temporary, and substitute employees within assigned office(s).
This includes job requisition and posting, initial screening of resumes, interviewing, reference checking, communicating with candidates, and offers of employment.
Maintain and update all HRIS/Human Resources Information systems and databases (e.
g.
eFinance, Frontline Central, SharePoint site, Google Drive, Excel, etc.
) ensuring accuracy.
Enter employee information, make updates, review for accuracy, and generate reports as needed.
Create online employee forms and templates and update as needed.
Generate all personnel action forms for employee hires, resignations, retirements, transfers, status changes, leaves of absences, etc.
Ensure payroll changes have been appropriately communicated and HR systems are updated.
Assist with the administration of compensation and benefits programs including compiling reports, salary updates and salary calculations, assisting with annual new-year salary statements, communicating benefit information to employees, assisting with claims resolution, and leave of absence administration.
Serve as the first point of contact for employees within assigned office(s) and provides information to employees about contract or group agreement language, policies and procedures, and other employment-related questions.
Provide HR compliance support.
Ensure employees have appropriate clearances and certifications, required trainings, and other credentials.
Assist with the coordination of hiring events and job fairs.
Assist with the advertisement of all MCIU vacancies (e.
g.
social media sites, professional associations/organizations, job posting sites, universities/colleges, media/news, etc.
).
Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of Office of Human Resources and services performed.
Project a positive image and actively model the Mission, Values, and Operating Principles of the MCIU.
Any and all other duties as assigned by the Director/Assistant Director of Human Resources.

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located at 2 W.
Lafayette St.
Norristown, PA 19401.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7 hours/day, 12 months (260-262 days/year).
Salary:
